stereo competition

just lettin anyone/everyone know that there is a stereo competition in the illinios area. if you are interested let me know ill i can give you further information on it. date is set for April 24th. its a sunday.

also, i waned to say that my stereo system has a claimed spl rating of 148. this was true, it did test that, but it was tested on an older mic. i had my stereo system tested yesterday at 138 on 7 second bass drop. 138 is really bad for my system so i took it apart and found out what my problem was. instead of my amy being at 1ohm and pushing what it should, my amplifier was actually only at 4ohms. there was also another small glitch in the wiring. so, everything is being redone. from my head unit all the way back. im predicted to run (on the newer meca car audio microphone) mid 140's. i'll try to take a picture of the mic rating the day of the competition and post it up have a good day everyone!

how do you get over 120 without the car vibrating and making the sound/experience totally unpleasant?

well actually im starting to notice a slight vibration coming from the panals inside the car. all the bass inside of it is making the screws come loose. pretty much just gotta tighten them up and inside the car its perfect sound quality with lots of bass. it also helps that i dont have factory anything when it comes to the stereo. and two seperate amps. one for subs, one for sides.

when you are outside the car, and well actually, when you are outside and in the rear end of the car the trunk shakes and ratels like no other. BUT, if the windows and/or t-tops are off. all the bass kinda just flows outside and the rattleing is very minimal.

stereo comp is in 3 days and im predictiing a 143 for my system. i guess we shall find out very soon!

usually all the plastic panels in the rear rattle, and all the parts in the trunk mechanism area.

lol screws rattling loose... this is why i do not want a sub in my car, 1 10 or 8 would b fine enough for me since i enjoy sound quality but i dont want to retighten screws n crap, and if u constantly retighten that means some of em r gonna strip out, and thats an unpleasant experience for me

the back of the hatch is actually really level with the sub box and amp platform so theres no room for any of the plastic to rattle. it cant move. my door panals were loose as it is, the subs just kinda helped them get worse but i mean, nothing a whole 5 seconds with a power drill cant fix.

I don't see how a power drill will solve anything

also, all the plastic in the rear, over the spare tire compartment, and the glovebox.

the plastic on the ceiling, the door trim, and the dashboard will all rattle.

I suggest using locktite on the 6x9 screws and anything else that seems to be rattling.
