2 amps?
I just bought one more identical amp for my car. so now i have 2 amps. I have a 8AWG going from the battery to the juction block. They subs dont seem to hit hard anymore? Is it because im using a dinky 8 gauge?

why do u have at ur own risk stenciled in the window....I think you mean your the one risking ur subs when u put a big ol JL sign on your hatch. I mean for all I know you could live in a good neighborhood but it doesnt seem too smart to be telling everyone STEAL MY SYSTEM.

oh and on the topic of the post. Usually 4 awg is a good starter wire for any system unless its really low wattage.
As for two sepperate amps..I dunno about that...

Yeah i think im going to put 4 gauge in there. Cause i just hook up one amp up and the sub hits. They are both 600 watts.

also my alarm tells me on the pager when the larm locks, unlocks, getss set off, etc...
Jsut a few rpoblems you may be running into.
You probably do need to upgrade you power wires. Giving us some info on you amp would better help to determine this.
Not sure what subs you have because again you didn't gigve us any info but itf your 2 subs (assuming this is what you have) were able to work off of 1 amp then mostlikley the total ohm load per amp has increased per amp and basically makes no extra power. Example if you have an amp that puts out 400 watts @ 4 ohms and you have 2, 8 ohm speakers wired to 4 ohms on one amp it would be putting aout its rated power of 400 watts. If you had the same amp one on each sub then each amp would be putting out roughly 200 watts to each 8 ohm sub doinf nothing to increase your power.
Also if your using a common chamber box I would be willing to be that the gains haven't been power match and this could cause cancelation and lack of performance. To get the gains matched get a cd that has test tones, preferably low frequency ones, and after you feel you have you gains in the ballpark of how they should be set, disconnect you subs turn the sytem on and repeat the same track over and over. Get a DMM and set it to read AC voltage and see how many volts each amp is putting out and adjust the gain on one amp until it maches the other exactly. This will make both amps put out the same amount of power to each speaker making the amps act more as one.

On my amp i have an input for RCA jacks and an output. On the output i have a switch were i can change the cutoff frequency(Low pass, High pass, and Band pass witch is the middle of the two). Well my uncle looked at my setup and he put the output cutoff frequency to band pass and my subs hits REALLY HARD!!!. I have 2 10 inch acustics. with 2 600 watt earthquake amp. I dont need a bigger wire gauge from the battery. Thanks for the help guys.

4 gauge is always a good starter though especially since you run two amps. Im guessing 600 isnt RMS cause you should deff. upgrade to like 2 gauge at least if your running 1200 RMS

yeah your right about the 2 gauge if i was going to run 1200 rms. But im running 300rms. so ill be fine. But im going to keep these amps till they go. when they do i wll go to 2 gauge. Thanks for all the help guys.
Hey ramair, what did you use to redo your headliner? It looks pretty good. Nice ride overall!
Also where did you get clips for your sunglasses. Those would come in handy!
