subwoofer box

I was thinking about putting a audiobahn sub in my car but they say that they sound better in a ported box than a sealed box.

so my ? is has anybody ever built a ported box in thier F-body to hold one 12? If any body has plans, or pics that would be nice

I just got done with mine. Its sealed tho but its holding 1 12" Type-R. with abou a Cubic foot of Air Space. Probably not enough for the Audiobahn.

Ported boxes have to be carefully matched to the sub to sound right. The specs on the sub, the airspace, and the port length and diameter all have to match up. So it's not as simple as using somebody's plans. Do a search online and u should be able to find ported box calculators that will allow u to enter the specs and then it will give u the correct airspace and port dimensions.

Once u figure that out, u should be able to take someone's design for a sealed box, modify it slightly to the get the correct airspace, and then simply drill a hole in it and add a port.
