Battery? Gel Cell?
I stuck this under electronics originally, but since my stereo is the likely culprit, this is probably more suitable.
I need a new battery - was thinking of a gel cell, but a big battery may be the better solution (1000 CCA). I'll need to rebuild my alternator soon, so I'm thinking about just getting a new 140 amp. My system isn't that powerful - basic setup as you can see from my sig, although I think I bridged the amp wrong to milk the most power out of it (long time ago, don't quite remember)
So - the question...what's the better setup? Big battery with big amp, gel cell with current alt, waddya all figger? Thanks in advance...

I got the yellow top and I couldn't be happier... I can pound my system for more than 5 hours straight without getting the voltage below 11.0... which is when my engine starts to charge it all back up...
Bigger batteries are always a good thing, but if you plan on draining it a lot, plan on buying a dual-purpose battery, like a yellowtop
they can be drained a million times and could care less...
I'd say go with a single yellowtop + new alt, or leave your existing battery in the enginebay, and put the yellowtop near your amp, you may need some electronics, because I hear it's not a good idea to put differnt batteries together like that... but then you wouldn't need a capacitor, having the battery so close like that...
