getting it togther, got new amp
Well the new system for the IROC is comming together. I just bought a new amp to run the entire system.
Kicker KX700.5
5 channel amp. Mixed mode; 4 channel - A/B class amp 85x4 @4ohm stereo and 1 sub channel - D class amp 420x1 Remote bass control, 3 built in crossovers, built-in fan.
Excellent amp in my opinion. Just thought I share and show off a bit. Now, where to mount it?? I'd like to have it hidden... perhaps in the spare tire well.
Anyone got amps or other electronics hidden in the spare tire well or glove box area?? Show me, post some pics - I need some ideas!
Thanks!

I'm not sure how big that amp is, but you might want to try mounting it in the rear seat. I'm going to attempt the same once I choose my two new amps. Thankfully, I have my tan seat back to test things on before I try it on my black one. Here's a link
Nice choice
Isn't a good feeling when things start coming together?
Nice choice

yes I'd love to mount it in the rear seat, however the amp is nearly 24" long.. and I'm fairly certain that it won't fit (darn it!)
I'll have to measure to make sure.. it would be sweet if it fit!

unfortunatly my rear seats are split, like rear buckets.
I'll have to measure it later today when I get home from work.

If you took the end caps off it would fit nicely in a solid rear seat. It might be a little more work, but that could be very well worth it.

I looked up the dimensions of the amp on epinions.com. All the Kicker amps I've dealt with give the dimensions with end caps installed. These add on ~4-5 extra incles in length.
Width: 10.13 in.
Depth: 22.5 in.
Height: 2.5 in.
...and 82firebird...I can't get enough of your sig.

nice amp.. i love my sx amps!
in order from top to bottom. 900.4, 1250.1 and 500.2 i had another 4 channel but i took a set of speakers out to cut down on space. i would mount it either in the lower well area if nothing is there or if you really want it hidden the one should fit on the drivers side where the side compartment is.

Kandied91z,
Are those in an amp rack? If so, I'd like a closer look, if you don't mind. Looks like an interesting setup.

ya I think we'd all like to see a closer looks at Kandy's setup...
in time after i have the paint finished.

in order to fit on the drivers side yes you would have to remove the actual compartment/cardboard box. that's just a decision you'll have to make though, the amps look nice enough why not body match the metal extensions and show it off?
either way i'm sure you'll figure something out.

That amp should fit in your back seat. My subs amp is 31.5" long and I thought bout putting it in the back seat. I just couldnt fit that AND my highs amp in there together nicely. So, they sit on the hatch with everything else. Check the pic in my sig. What color is your interior? I might be willing to trade ya back seats, I have the full one. Im planning on getting rid of the back seats anyways, that would just modivate me to get my **** in gear and do it! PM me or let me know!

my interior is grey.
DISTURBthePEACE - I like your box.. want to make me a similar one?

You know, your the second or third person to ask that....maybe I should consider it...let me think it over. It just takes so much time and its built to my subs requirements. I install car audio from 9 am to 6 or 7 pm and I never feel like doing it after work but if there are enough people who want them, then maybe I will consider it...may get expensive though, especially if you want it painted like that too.
