Mounting Locations (XM, iPod)

I just purchased an Alpine CDA-9847 for my Formula, and have decided to place a second order from Crutchfield to get the iPod and XM radio equipment.

My question is, where are the best locations, out of the way, to mount these two items? The XMDirect box is like 4.5"x1.5"x5" and the iPod unit is about the same size. Since these cars don't have glove boxes, I am sort of scratching my head as to where there is accessible room in an out-of-the-way spot to put this stuff.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and pics would be doubly appreciated!

Thanks a lot.

The boxes should fit under the set. Just keep an eye out for leaks and never leave the window down or Ts out (if you have them). Corrosion damage is NOT covered under warranty.

Thanks for the reply. Do you just screw the box down right through the carpet, or do you cut out a square of carpet and set the box directly against the metal floorpan?

I don't think if would be a problem grounding the box, but see if the instruction say to keep the box isolated from the chassis ground.
