Speed volume control on 4th gen radio swap

Has anyone got this thing to work??? I have searched this site but with no avail. Just installed the 4th gen radio (tape deck) into the Formula and it looks GREAT!!! I have Sirius so no CDs needed I would like to get this fature to work if it is possible. There is a connection ( black with a black and an orange wire) that goes to something...Wonder if this could be i.

Any help appreciated

Schematic for a 97 shows a dark green/white stripe going to the ECM vehicle speed output. Same wire goes to the instument cluster for the speedometer signal. If you come up a way to make this work please post, I'd like to have mine work too.

does the 3rd gen radio have the same plug as the 4th gen radio? If not what wires go were? And will it physically bolt into the 3rd gen with little or no modification?

1. Yes they do (as long as you do not get a BOSE type radio)

2. There is a diagram that I found on Google for the wires (had to use a reverse adapter plug because I cut off my original)

3. It will physically bolt up as long as you get the one with the metal brackets...not the plastic truck brackte. You might have to cut the little plastic tit off the back of the radio so it will slide all the way back. You also might have to drill out the bracket holes on the radio bracket to get the radio to fit EVEN!!!!
