91-92 Stock CD Player...

I have a stock CD player, and It was locked at some point in its life when power was cut to it, so who knows where I can go, or how to unlock this cd player?

Thanks

if it was out of a car with steering wheel controls you need to hit the "mute" button on the steering wheel controls, or bridge the pins that would lead to the switch. if not then... i don't know.

yeah, but if the unit is out of a car that did have wheel controls the only way to unlock it invlves the "mute" button on the wheel. however, somwhere on the back of the unit there will be a plug for the wheel control input, it will ahve alot of pins. if you bridge the pins the switch would bridge (like clicking the bare wires together" it will emulate the use of the mute button and bring the unit back online.

www.GTASOURCEPAGE.com has this to say...
Aren't theft deterrent systems wonderful? This problem means that power to the radio has been interrupted, and the Delco-Loc theft system has kicked in to safeguard the radio. Simply push the "MUTE" button on the steering wheel and the display will return to the clock feature and power to the unit will be restored.
if the back of the unit has no input for steering wheel controls this is not the solution you are looking for. i'm sorry i was not more clear before.

I talked to the dealer in my area today and they said to just drive the car in with the CD player in, and they would somehow unlock it there... So for anyone now or in the future with this issue, this seems to be the easiest way to go.

Thanks for the input!

well the cd players operate on a 4 digit code... and there was a post on how to unlock that yourself but any dealership should do it for free, they do in my area...
