Buy a wiring kit. There is no good reason to cut up your factory wiring, and plenty of good reasons why not to. It will make the installation MUCH easier, and it will make removal easier, and the harness only costs about $5-10.

If you've suffered the misfortune of finding that some idiot before you already managed to hack your wiring, then do a search and you'll find 300 posts with all the info you need.

A wiring harness will allow you to hook up your head unit without having to cut and splice any of the factory wiring or the wiring of your new headunit.
Just trust us, if you dont know what you're doing then just spend the extra few bucks to make sure that it gets done right.

The wiring harness makes it a lot easier because the wires from the wire harness coming out of the radio and the wire harness you buy all match up color to color. IF you just match the color to color on the harnesses it should be a piece of cake. Just dont cut the plugs off the factory wires in the car. That will make it a pain in the butt.
