Aftermarket Head unit

Well, my stock unit decided to crap out on me, so I went out and bought an aftermarket head unit today. I woulda just gotten another stock one, b/c I'd rather it look stock, but I want to be able to plug my ipod right in and play CD's. Couple of questions. First, any help would be appreciated in wiring the thing up. if I had a 88, it seems like it would be plug and play essentially b/c they sell a harness for 88 and up, but I have an 87. If anyone can tell me what wires (colors) do what on the 4 plugs coming from the car that would be helpful. Also, as mentioned, I want to keep it as stock looking as possible, anyone come up with that will make it look as though the car came that way? Right now the unit is silver, the adapter plate is black and the cover for the radio pod is that black/ silver grid pattern, it just doesnt look right. Thanks.

The wiring for our cars stayed the same from 82-88 and i think there might of been some slight modifications in 89 and up. I personally would get a harness its the cleanest and easiest way to go, but if for whatever reason you dont want to here you go

DON'T hack your wiring. You'll hate your self later. Stop by Walmart and get the correct harness for you year, they are out there. Make life much easier.
