Mounting Depth depends on the 4x6 you pick. Some will drop right into the stock dash pockets others you need a small spacer. Some brands give you the spacer others will not. You could measure yours by putting a flat surface the back of the magnet and measure between it and the flange mount.

I've installed them in the parking lot of car audio places before. There not difficult to do.

You'll need to remove the dash pad, which includes several screws by the center heater defrost vents (4 I think) and several more along the perimeter of the underside lip between the corners on the driverside to passengerside.

The only 4x6 speakers you will have to worry about are the plate style speakers (the ones with the round woofer and separate tweeter). People have posted with problems regarding the woofer hitting vents in the dash because the woofers are off center. It seem to be a bird problem though – the rocks haven’t said much about it. You can make them fit but it takes some work. I have no personal experience so I don’t know for sure.

Actually I had the problem on the Memphis power refrence type 4x6's. Yes yes I know there cheap, but I got them for like $50 new. The problem was the small capacitor on the underside of the 4x6 hit off the ducting. I used my old Alpine 4x6 mounting plate and it worked fine. Replaced due to the cheap Alpine 4x6 sun rotting out the cone. Actually melted, you could see where the lines on the grilles blocked the sunlight.

Yes 4, be careful here. Depending on your climate you could crack your dash removing these. I would leave your defrosters on for a good 10mins so the plastic gets hot and wont crack!
