No power to cd player..not a bad wiring job
I am completly stumbed....my cd player has worked fine for the past 2 years in my car with absolutely no problems....i installd a FM Sterio Modulator from best buy that i could hook up and play my ipod through seeing how it is an old deck. I had pulled my stereo out and spliced into the ground and the accessory wire of the cd player to install the modulator. Everything was fine and radio worked until i went to put my cd player back into my dash. Something grounded out (maybe the remote wire) possibly on the HVAC controls and made a spark...I then tried to turn on my cd player and no luck. I thought that i might have either blown the cd player...no fuse on the backside, blown the radio or accessory fuse, or the Scosche wiring adapter. I then checked all fuses all were good. I then preceded by taking my deck to best buy to see if they could get it to power on...it did. I then took out the wiring adapter and reconnected all the wires and tried again and failed. I am really hoping that i did not fry the stock wiring harness. Are there any other fuses that i might be missing except under the driverside dash??? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem???
All of this for a damn ipod.....lol

Three things to do, since you've checked fuses:
a) Visually check your harness for broken wires, etc. - assuming you did that already, but who knows.
b) Pull out the voltmeter and check your wiring. The modulator is what you added, it could be defective. The voltmeter should show you this.
c) Ditch the iPod.

You shouldn't need to ditch the iPod (but I would). But It sounds like time to get a DMM out and check for B+, ACC, and ground. That all you need to get it to power up. But it sounds like you need to do a better job on the install. Not to be a D***, but if something ground out when you went to put thing back in, some is up with the install.

your problem, reminds me of a problem i had when i put in my cheepo jvc HU, FIrst the deck wouldn't power on, then it would, but the headlights would turn it off (WTF LOL) then i figured out that the stock wireing for the ground wire was FUBAR, and made a good ground, fixed my problem, check your grounds :P
