should I angle my sub or not

Im looking to make a box for a single 10" sub in the lower trunk well. the sub will be mounted on the side of the box firing horizontally. Should I angle the sub a little bit or just mount it straight up and down. I was told that the sub will not work correctly in a sealed box if its mounted square to the opposite side wall.

I have one 10" sub in the rear. The box I built to sit flush with the top off the deck well. It is firing straight upward at the rear deck glass and then bounces towards the front seats. I have a Pioneer 800watt sub, and a Pioneer 1 channel 1000 watt amp. Sounds good and bumps when you need it to. I try to get a picture soon. Sweet car by the way!

Mine is facing up and I'm only running a single cerwin vega 10" with 200 watt amp and it hits very nicely when needed, built the box to go around the window motor so I can still remove it when I want

Just popped a pair of cheapo pioneer 10" subs on a plate in the back of my car. they have a very very slight forward angle and they sound awesome for not being in a proper box.

I think they sound alot better than the 12" and 15" i had in the back seat before!
