well sub box, how much volume and what drivers?

hey guys.. preparing to build a well sub box very similar to the one in the sticky... I'm going to divide the box so there is two sealed sections (can't remember if the sticky thread has that)

anyway what is the approximate volume of the box, per side??

...and knowing that, what is a good pair of drivers to match?

I am leaning towards a pair of 12's, however I think a pair of 10's are going to be better suited for the size of the box. I've heard several guys recently with those square kicker subs, L5 or L7's or something.. and I've been very impressed!

the stickied box is approx 2.4cu/ft and it is not sperated.

So you will have to add in the displacement of the divider board and also if you wish the displacement of the sub.

i have a 12" kicker L5 and i say it sounds really good and im running 800 watts rms to it which it really doesnt need all of. but it kicks pretty hard makes my rear view mirror fall off and all other mirrors shake so much i cant see anything in them while its playing.

I have built 2 different boxes to fit the hatchback of the car, one seperating the two subs and the other having them together. It is alot of work and alot of trial and error. I found out that seperating the two is the best way to go, with about I think 1.2-1.5 cubic feet in each (dont quote me on that). It will give you that punch sound in your heart rather than that prolonged bass sound that sounds sloppy if you don't seperate the two. The best wood to use for the price is 3/4" MDF board, I tried 1/2 the first time but it didnt sound as good. Secondly definetely seperate the two subs,
Also if you havn't built a box like this before, when you are finished you have to make sure every millimeter of the box is air-tight or else it will sound horrible. I used two 12" infinity's but originally had two 10's. The 12" give you a MUCH better bass sound, much deeper also. I'm, powering about 300+ to each and it sounds great. I made the boxes on this program called Solid Works, my neighbor gave it to me, its used by engineers. I think i still have the dimensions if you need them. Here are some pictures of mine, not quite finished gotta touch up on some things. If you need any help i'd be more than willing to answer any questions u have.
