What The Heck????

Alright, im driving my mom's 02 camry today, and decide to turn on the radio, I find a song I like, and turn up the bass and treble....

I put the fader to where all the power went to the front speakers, The STOCK 6x9's in the camry's doors thump harder then my GTA with Sony 6x9's in the sails and Sony 4x6's in the dash, and a kenwood EZ500 HU.

My GTA has AMAZING sounding highs, but I can make more bass with my mouth then my car's sound system has right now if I tried.

Why is this?

The camry has absolutely no sound system modifications whatsoever, and it thumps like no other (yes it's stock, but geez, it literally shakes my arms and legs when it's turned up all the way, with JUST THE FRONT SPEAKERS!!)

The camry has 6x9's in the front doors and behind the seat.

Im guessing they came amped from the factory?

Im just asking this because, If I could have my GTA put out the bass that my mom's stock camry has (No, im not wanting anything fancy, just great sound)
Then I would be happy with that.

The first ting that came to my mind was if you have wired all your speakers with the same phase/ polarity. It may be a silly question, but lacking that much bass I think it deserves a double check.

The camry speaker housings are tuned boxes.

The camaro's speakers are in holes in the side of the car and dash.

My moms 01 Camry also has great bass and sound. I replaced the rear speakers with Alpines and also gave her 2 10"s in a sealed box I built. Her system sounds even better now and has amazing quality.

If you want more bass out of your 6x9's in the 3rd gens. You can purchase a 6x9 baffle to put behind your speakers. They basically are a flexible foam backing you can put behind your speaker then screw the speaker down. it gives the speaker a fixed amount of airspace to work with as opposed to the entire quarter panel. I beleve you can pick them up from crutchfield or similar places. I ordered mine from MCM Electronics.
