Harness Question

Ok I have a Pioneer DEH-P7500MP, and I need a wire harness adapter. I have the harness that comes out of the cd player, I just need the part that you wire to the car and plug into the cd players harness. Anyone know what type of harness I need?

Do I just buy one of those installation kits from walmart or something. Or do I need a specific one from Pioneer

you need one for the specific radio/car... can probably get one from tweeter. Alternate method: Cut and splice, a personal favorite.

Don't hack the harness. Go to Walmart, or Best Buy, or Circuit City, or what ever you have nearby and get a harness for your car. They can also be order from a hundred on-line place. You need one that is specific to your car, in your case one for a 92 Camaro. You will connect that harness to the harness that plugs into the Pioneer by using solder/heat shrink tubing or good quality crimps and get then tight. Do NOT Twist-and-tape. The other option is to buy a pre-made harness/adapter. This is just like above but someone other then you made the connections. They're not as widely available and will cost more, but if you're not comfortable making the connections they are an option. You should be ably to get one at a car audio shop or you can order one. Using harness insted of cutting up the stock harness makes for a much cleaner plug-in install, you can put the stock HU back in if you need to, and keeps the stock harness intact.

The guy I bought my car from hacked the harness and I payed no mind to it. Went to put mine in and it was hell trying to figure out what wires go where. The remote turn on had to go somewhere that didn't make since, I had to test and tune. The Hayne's book was helping me all the way.

Buy the adapter at Walmart, would probably be the cheapest and will work jsut as good as one you would buy anywhere else.
