4x6 is the speaker size in the dash. The ones in the rear sail panel are 6x9.

See If you can find a plate speaker. It's two round speakers on a plate that fits in the stock location. The advantage is you get a round speaker not an oval one. I know Pioneer used to sell them.

yes, each plate speaker is just "one channel" as you put it. The tweeter just happens to be next to the woofer instead of above it. Functionally it's identical. The advantage is that generally, the plate speakers are a higher quality than a normal coax. You will get less bass and midbass response out of a plate because of the smaller woofer, but you generally get better midrange and highs due to the better quality drivers.

Re: speaker size
Guy's would these speakers fit in the 6X9 location? They look a little deep. I have a Vert I assume the sail panels are 6X9 there as well. Thanks Mike

Welcome to the board.
Not sure if verts have 6x9 openings or not. BOSS is a pretty low end line of speaker. If it were my money...i'd pass.
try www.woofersetc.com for some speaker choices...look at Pioneer Premier, JL Audio or JBL.
Good luck.
