help w/new system

I have a 99 SS that the previous owner clipped the speakers to their death. Only the passenger side front speaker is working and I can't stand it anymore. I had a nice simple system in my 85 camaro and haven't looked into car audio since I got it.

That said...I have 2 12" subs and an amp to power them both. I also have 2 4 channel by 60W rms amps sitting in the garage. I'm looking to get a nice system, but I'm married so I'm still on a bit of a budget for the speakers. What recommendations do you guys have? What type of speakers should I get where, how should I wire them to the 2 multi channel amps? I haven't dealt with even thinking about this for a while and don't remember much of it. Any help would be appreciated. I miss good sound.

I have a pair of 4x60rms amps for the speakers as well as the mono amp for my subs. I just don't have any speakers to hook up to the multi-channel amps and was looking for recommendations and configurations for the speakers and multi-channel amps. I have a budget of about $450 for the speakers.

read the first post a bit more careful. the 4 channel amp is the 60 watts rms per channel spec.

as for speakers, go to a local shop, and see waht they will do for a package deal. alpine type s sounds good and im sure the price on them are inexpensive.

But ya, just go to a stereo shop, and im sure ull be able to work out a deal.

450$ is enough easily.
what configuration is your 99camaro?

4 speakers, or is it components in the front. like tweeters and 6.5s?

the backs are 6 by 9s

do u have wireing kits for ur amps?

I have 6.5's in the doors and sail panels, and in the rears I have spots for 6.5s and 4s. I've decided already that I'm going to put tweeters in the pillars, so I'm thinking 6.5 components in the doors.

My thoughts for the sail panels and the rears is to just get some 6.5 2 ways. What do you think?

definitly do a component setup for the front, 6.5s int eh doors, and tweeters in the pillars.

as for the rears, are u able to fit 6 by 9s, because in those back area pillars, 6 by 9s sound awesome.

but if it fits 6.5s then ya 2 ways are definitly good.

Thanks. I can't fit 6x9's in the sail panels, just 6.5/6.75s, but I could probably fit 6x9s in the very rear.

Did you have the delco bose sound system in that 99 right? If so the reason why you are having problems in because the delco bose Gold sound system had that set up where you had five or 6 speakers mounted. That head unit is pre Amped, and maybe all you really have to do is just change the lil amps that are mounted with the speakers. If not Quote me.

The head unit was changed out by the previous owner as were the speakers. I just went into things the other day and he did a very half a$$ job of everything. I'm just going to redo everything with the stuff I pulled out of my 85 and some new component speakers and 2 ways. No sense in doing it if you don't do it right. Thankfully my wife understands that and is willing to let me spend the money even though I just bought a bunch of stuff for the blower motor I'm building .
