custom subwoofer box

Do all of you guys build your subwoofer boxes? I don't see how could get any sub boxes in there. Please give me instructions of how you guys "flatten" out your trunk to put in subs

Ya I think they do. Thanks so much for your help, I know the one you posted and that one I was lookin at looked alittle different. Since theres no wood for extra support will it hold up right and not like fall down in the hatch? lol

You could use shallow mount subs with a removeable box and put the NOS bottle under the box.

Or you could just have a box built. My local Car Toys built a box for my JL Audio 10W3v2 that has the sub high and the sides low so my amps would be level with the sub. Then they tossed on an amp rack (read cover) for $150.00 out the door. I would at least shop around and haggle before just buying a prefab box. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with prefab but if you can get custom for the same price or just a tad more why go with prefab?

I would pass, they only used 5/8th MDF. Most use 3/4 for boxes. Plus almost 2 cu of air space. You would need to check with your sub manufacture to see they can go in a seal enclosure that big.

Another route would get a fiberglass one built, much lighter! What I always hated about wood boxes back there. They are hard to take out, when you need to change a tail light bulb or anything. It's just awkward because they are so big and heavy.

I have a fiberglass one now, and it's so light and very easy to get out of there.
