power issue...
Ok, so I installed a new head unit in my car, and since the previous head unit was pulled out, cut off the harness and stolen, I had no other but to hard wire my pioneer in. Well, the Orange wire that is supposed to be 12v constant is dead, no power to it with the car off. key in, car on, or car running, but my acc wire(i believe the yellow one) has power when key is on on or running. Any ideas? iwas thinking a bad fuse? or maybe the wire might have been cut because it previously was wired for dual 10 subs?
I really dont know...

It's sad that so many of these get hacked up. Check your fuse first. The Radio fuse is for the yellow (acc wire). The ARC fuse is for the orange wire (12v constant). If your fuse is OK, think about replacing the orange wire. It could be damaged. The schematic I have (1992 F-body) dosen't show that wire going anywhere except directly from the fuse block to the radio so it should be easy to swap out.
There is no way to tell what the previous owner(s)/installer(s) dod or didn't do. I've seen where people wired up an amp to the radio's ground wire and well you can imagine what happened as a result . . .

When I bought my car it was the same way, but my had a crappy radio in it. Wire harness was hacked, I used the Haynes book to help me figure out what went where and the same problem, it said somthing was somthing and it didnt work. I just had to plug and play, it finally worked.
