Focal?

I'm not an audio buff so please help =) Anyone ever use or hear of a focal sub? It came with my car, and untill the amp went I never had the urge or care to look at it. Anyways the sub says Focal Polyglass and WAS ran by an Orion cs200.4 amp. So whats the scoop on it? Good? Bad? Ugly?

Focal overall is a pretty good brand. We have a few people on our site that run them.

I'm not to familiar with their different lineups tho.

Focals are good for SQ. The Polyglass line is one of thier entry level setups, but still much better than some you could buy. I run focals for my front stage and have NO issues with them.

You looking to get rid of the sub? or are you getting another amp to run it?

Focal is a very good brand. The polyglass is their lower end stuff but still good. Depends on what you are wanting out of the sub. If your wanting a big booming sub then there not what you want. They are more geared for sound quality.

Thats exactly what I'm gearing for, sound quality. I'm in the search for a new amp but I have no idea where to start looking. I am doing a search on amps right now, but I would like it if I could get directed to a few to choose from

Edit: An amp that wont break the bank

EDITpart2: This is the HU I am going to get, at least planning on getting, when it comes out at the end of march. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...683232,00.html

Their high end (and midrange stuff) is generally very well regarded, but still grossly overpriced. For those who are willing to pay, they get a fantastic speaker though.

Their lower level stuff is more of a mass-market type product, but still good stuff. It's not the first name in value, but if you've already got it, there's no reason to change it. It's not going to shake your car apart, but is likely to sound quite good.

Now this is where I get lost and start scratching my head. After staying up till 4 am, I think I'm starting to get the basics of system selections. So this is what I have come down to as selecting an amp. Do you think the 450 will be to much of an amp for my setup? (Infinity 4x6/6x9 Focal Sub) or to little? Or will the 250 be enough.

Any other suggestions are welcome

I dont plan on buying from them, it was just for a general idea of what I'm after

So I should be fine with getting the 250 then?

What are you trying to run with the amp? 2 or 4 speakers and a sub?

save money. ditch the rear speakers and get a 2ch amp and a mono amp for the sub. Or one amp to run just those. rear fill is overrated.
