I just bought an 89 and the guy had an extensive stereo in it. It's got 2 10" subs, infity speakers, 16 band eq, 6 disc cd, tape, lights, 3 amps (2200X2, 2400) I don't know much about stereos, but the subs are upside down in the box (see pic) and they flip up and there is clear plastic where you can see them. What is the point of them being upside down??? Should I flip them around anyone know anything about this?

 

it dont matter if there up or down , they will hit harder when there facing down like that , i my self like them facing up , i did not notice to much of a difference when i tried it

 

It was designed for SPL looks like and yes it does make a difference when you face the subs down because of the way you have to wire them if you flip them then you could fry the subs. and the box appears to be tuned so i would leave it. does it hit hard?

 

yes they are wired backwards when facing like that... (- to +) and( + to -)..its flashy for one to show off the magnet.. but if the box was custom built then airspace with the speaker up was taken into account the box cubic feet will be smaller if you flipped them around.. leave it looks cool
