hello to all,

Ive been looking for new speakers that will fit in stock location.
Yes, ive used the seach key all afternoon.
right now i only have stock front speakers. and a crappy head unit,I have the bose kick pannles but they dont work. I had the bose rear lid for the hatch but it was not on, the car when I bought it{stolen off}

Im no sound guru, but i want a good matching set of speakers
type of music i listen to: metal,alt, classic rock,punk,ska once in a while some rap

what i want :
headunit with aux cable so i can plug ipod or other portable music device to}
amp { no idea to any of this ,head i should get a 4 channle or sumthin
sub{ if i can figure out how to get it to fit in the spare tire area} i need my trunk well aer so puttin a box there isnt an option
speakers for stock location{ dash and sail pannles}
wires{need to conect speakers some how}
im leaning to Boston Acoustic,over infinity and poiner
I need help finding the right ones for this application, and some where that sells them.

head unit
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-3U7GmXR...0&I=500CDE9852
(usaly i will always tell people to not buy from crutchfield but they aucly have the lowest price for a change)

4x6's
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/6002
(40 bucks and there bitching my old pair)

6x9's
http://cgi.ebay.com/POLK-AUDIO-DB691...em?refid=store
(great buy good seller)

sub
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/3304

i listen to rock and punk and these sound great and got boom for system of a down , i use 2 , if your tring to stick to a tigher budget i would go with this amp

if using 1 sub this amp will be fine
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/4348

if using 2 subs
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/4368
(amp i use)

thats 450 with out shipping , use a sealed box for the subs

if 2 subs and amp will be like 650

dont forget you need 4 guage wire for 2 subs you might be able to use lower guage for the other amp but i would stick to 4 guage

Re: need new system plz help!!!

ebay sub boxes for the well work best , also recommend getting a securety system(sp?)

the well area is realy the best bet for a system

and as far as i know they only sell them for 2 subs but there closed off from each other so there wouldnt be any distortion as far as a steal sub box , search this forum as no one sells stealth boxes for 3rd gens they do for 4th gens but i dont know how hard it would be to mold one to fit

also a small sealed one desighed for a sub would work but i would not recommend it casue its less air space and would not be hitting as hard

i got over 1200 before i relized how much audio i bought and i still wanna spend 500 on new kick panels and comps with an amp heh

http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...l/fp/SFV/30046

that url also sells a better version of the sub box but i think its for 12's only and selling you listen to rock 10's are better hits the drumb beats fast as all hell

also sounds great with rape seeing there SQL subs they get alot of play

Re: need new system plz help!!!

stay awat from anything sony, they just dont make audio equipment thats good , anything sony sucks

all the stuff i linked you i personly used at one point and i cna say the 4x6's sound good and the 6x9's do , i my self added bass blockers to my 4x6's and 6x9's and used my subs as bass and my speakers basicly as tweeters

http://cgi.ebay.com/CUSTOM-10-SUBWOO...QQcmdZViewItem

theres the same exact some bux i currently use

amp install kit
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/3127

ALO MAKE SURE TO READ THIS
if your ordering from IK sound , make sure to email them
info@iksound.com , and ask them if they have the 2 subs in and the amp , there stocked shelfs always vary and you need to make sure there in stock , i waited and extra 5 days casue 1 speaker was shipped from calli while the other was shipped from FL , everythings brand new they just buy over stock from people and resell them

and if you dont want to go with the polk 6x9's find a nice pair of Boston's or get there 6.5 comps for the back and find a 100 - 150.2 amp (150 rms to 2 channels) for real fill , its what i am doing shortly , and buying some kicks and comps for front

Re: need new system plz help!!!

question:
Is it better to mix and match speakers? like 6x9's one brand and 4x6 another or just stick to one brand? i would assume that there would work better with the same brand....

Is it better to run 2 subs or one sub? im goin with your advise jstuff with the 10'' sub

if im gona do this project i wana do it right

anyways the boston accustic have alot of different one, i dono **** about em besides alot of sound dudes i know rave about em. and were recomended to me greatly....so from there line up wich should i get i dono the rms things with speakers and that stuff can some one help me get the right ones from boston acustics?

Re: need new system plz help!!!

it realy dont matter if you mix dif brand 4x6's and 6x9's

i my self like 2 subs just casue it was much easier to find a sub box and they sound good , if you want BA 4x6's and 6x9's find some in your price range all BA's are good

Re: need new system plz help!!!

The sub issue is kind of hard to answer, it really depends on listening preferences, if you just want sound quality, 1 sub in a sealed enclosure will be plenty for your needs. The bigger the sub, the lower the frequencies and adding more subs will give you more volume (thump). 10" is a good all around sub if you mix your music up.

Boston acoustics is way overpriced and I've never heard anybody on a car forum raving about them... There are much better deals out there. Alpine and Pioneer are probably my favorites for price/performance. That Type-R 10" sub Jtufts posted is probably about as good as it gets for bang for the buck.

Re: need new system plz help!!!

BAs or Polks are the best speakers out there

for an amp, do you want to hook up all speakers, rear speakers, or just sub to the amp? depends on weather you need a 4, 5, or a 2 channel and 4 channel amp, for an amp i would look around for a profile amp, cheap, reliable, put out the rated power

there is NO best sub, try and compare and see what you want

go with a pioneer or panasonic head unit

stay away from sony, and do NOT waste your money on a CAP. if your lights flicker or anything upgrade the alternator and battery
