Re: Needing help
you could put fans on it.. maybe some type of ventilation system? if you buy little computer fans you just hook it up to the +/- of the amp

Re: Needing help
thats what i was thinkin of doing, and have it open instead of laying plexiglass over it cause my amp has vents in the top and down the sides with two fans built into the amp.

also, you should watch out when your cutting holes, I had that idea, till i found out the gas tank was there, it could also cause troubles, but I think its a good idea.

Re: Needing help
I'll have to see if I have any pictures, but I had done this setup before I got rid of the car. Although it is recommended to run some fans for the heat, I was able to get by without any issues. A lot of it will depend on how hot the amps run. If they are warm while out in the open, you can be sure they are going to get warmer when enclosed in a rack.
As for the insides, there is a foam insert laying against a plastic frame / seat back. What I did was remove the foam and cut a sheet of mdf the width and height of the seat back to mount the amps to. bolted this to the plastic frame, put some new stuffing in, and put the cover back on. I did cut a hole in the plastic so you could see the amps, but the hole was only visible if the seat was down, making a pretty stealth setup. It was also a nice way to discourage anyone from stealing the amps. I can guarantee it would have taken at least 15-20 min to get those amps out if you were in a rush, as there was no mounting hardware within easy access.

Re: Needing help
ok, did some digging (and i mean digging, these pics are at least 3-4+ years old) and came up with a picture of the mounting i made for the amps. this section is what replaced the foam inside the seat and bolted to the plastic seatback. hope it gives you some ideas.
