And I also bought this mtx thunder amplifier for the speakers because the guys there told this would be enough to power the speakers

Re: Amp overheating need help

you need to wire the amp for ohms also.
load the amp for the rated ohms and it will not overheat and kick off.

In my opinon heres how u do that... resistance is measured in Ohms in the electrical world, aka the work needed to done. your speakers are the resistance and so should all be the same ohm rating. Most amps are designated with power output levels for 2 and 4 ohms. More resistance means less power, so if your looking for power use speakers with the lowest possible ohm rating.

Re: Amp overheating need help

how many watts?..is the amp and are you using them for 4 speakers?..shouldnt be overheating..you might need a bigger amp.. personally i like hifonics.. they never let me down.. anyways..if you using for highs... u need to turn off low bandpass and high pass on.. and control how much u want it.. have the radio on so u ca hear it as u adjust.. but if its overheating..its becuz something is no right.. maybe a short.. or amp is too small.. check the wires
