Re: subs in winter?

when it gets that cold, you'll want to make sure everything is still flexible.

One thing you could do is 'warm them up' by playing at a very low volume for awhile, just to allow things to move around without damaging them.

Just be careful that any condensation hasn't frozen the cone, or anything like that, and you should be fine.

Since I live in an area that will never get like that, I've never really thought about it before.

Re: subs in winter?

If you have money or you just want to go high tech get a remote car stater and put the heat on so when you get in you won't freeze.

I'm hopefully going to do the same soon before the winter gets bad.

My friend told me thats what he does for coooold winter days I thought it was a good idea so I'm doing the same

I ran 12" subs in northern New York in -20 to -40 degree weather and never had a problem.

Re: subs in winter?

u wont really bust ur back glass, but u can crack it by lots of flex..

well if the sub/box isnt heavy u could take it out and put it in ur house when ur done traveling..might be stupied but it works just be a headact lol plus u dont have to worry about it getting stolen..

Re: subs in winter?

to keep it warm, you could try a heating mat (like a heating blanket, but much smaller) and just drape it across. You'd have to run a cord out to it, otherwise your battery would be dead by morning trying to run that off an inverter.
