dash 6x9's
A friend of mine use to own an 86 iroc. When he bought the car the previous owner had installed custom 6x9's in the dashboard with the speaker covers mounted on the dash. Has anyone else done this and how did you do it?

Re: dash 6x9's
would take some major cutting I think. You may be able to get some of the newer slim 6" in there and that's a maybe if you try hard, and I bet ther is still some trimming

Re: dash 6x9's
Or you could remove all of your ducting and have all the space you need!
As a matter of fact, I'm glad you mentioned this because I just got done gutting the dash and have a ton of space. I think the 5x7's I have would fit perfectly in there with some modification. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

Re: dash 6x9's
I would never put 6x9's in my dash, for all the cutting and modifying just to make it fit. I would rather invest the time into putting 6.5's into kickpods and get better imaging in the process.
Plus a 6.5 is going to sound better then a 6x9 to start with.
