Modify Speakers?

I have a pair of 3.5 2-way speakers that look like they would fit well in my bose kick panels IF they did not have the tweeters sticking out so far. Would they still sound OK if I removed the tweeters, or would they just sound like crap? As long as they sound better than the stock dash speakers than I would be fine with that.

Like crap, do NOT do this, go to Partsexpress.com and pick up a nice set of tweeters that'll fit the holes you have. You should be able to get good low power handling, high efficiency tweets for less than 30 bucks.
