any one ever put a ps2 in car

has any one ever installed a ps2 in there car. i want to buy a flip out moniter cd/dvd player and want to add the ps2 in, but i dont know were to put it? i would prefer it within the driverside reach and not in the rear. if any ones done this please give me an idea so i dont make it look stupid. its a slim ps2, so its not as versitle w/ mounting like the older style.

I disagree, I think the smaller size makes it perfect to work with in cars... A cool idea would be to cut out a ps2-size hole in the dashpad and stick it in there so its flush with the pad, since the slims load topside. but, more than likely, you might have to put it under the seat, and slide it out when you want to put games in it...

i only like the big one cuz you can flush mount the face of it. and iv had better luck with the bigger ones because the first slim one died not even a year after i bought it new(silver one) now i have a used black one thats probobly 2 years old ( bought for $30 from friend) and it wont read any movies and is tempermental with sertain games. but thanks for the under the seat idea. i never thought about that. my buddy put his in the glove box in his civic. oh yeah do you think i could make some sort tray w/ some sliders but still put it under seat. kinda like it would be on a computer desk but not a keybord. and a smaller version.

Hm. You could try turning it veritcal, opening side facing the driver's door. Mount it into the side of the radio pod, not quite flush, because you're going to need to put in controllers, memory card, and be able to turn on/system. Just an idea.

I'm not to fond of the idea of adding a PS2 to these cars, but what you want is what you want so I'll lend my 2 cents. lol.

Either under a seat passenger probably or maybe cut out the piece by your passenger where all the wires are and that little light is. Usually a glove box in most cars.. dunno thats if you want to start cutting holes into the plastic and making a little bracket so the ps2 sits straight. It will look decent.. donnu how you would turn it off and on though because of the back switch.

Not a great idea for the car. stick to big cars if you want the game system and **** much more comfortable probably too. I doubt you will even play on it after the first week you do this. I think a Sub system in my car was too much but TV and Gaming system thats just pushing it :/
GL though if you get it in ever post up some pics

Okay, I put a ps2 in my car and it was one of the slim ps2's as well. I decided to put mine in the center console. Here are some pics of the install

It is in reach of the driver with easy access to the control ports. Just figured I would show you what I did with mine to give you an idea. Hope this helps.

Here's what I did in my S10 Blazer, I went to Lowes and bought some cabinet tracks, handle, and a magnet catch and made a slide-out tray under my passenger seat.

Worked out awesome....on the F-body passenger seats you may have to shim it up a bit, but the concepts the same.

Re: any one ever put a ps2 in car

I like the center console idea alot. I have a 4th gen center console, so I'm not sure how that would work, but I'll look into it when I install a LCD screen in the car first...

true, but you always have to blow out the dust in the cartridge and the port on the console
