hey bro. thats a great 4x6 plate. well worth the cash. and its always good to stay with the same brand all the way around if you can find the right speaker for your ear. if you have the bose setup....i suggest ripping the sheeite out and going with straight connections. too much old technology to mess up. as for head units, i've had great luck with alpine, eclipse and pioneer. kenwood has some good ones, but i have not had the best of luck with cd skippage. thats not to say that they are not a good brand. but, you get what you pay for!!

if you want ipod control, here are few great ones! with dif budgets

I agree with you brotha 100% get the alpine if you got a lil bigger budget. I personally like alpine. I got all alpine speakers and deck and love em. But kappa was my 2nd choice and if you gonna get 4x6 for the front might as well get the 6x9 rears I hear they are just as loud and sound great.
Your back speakers shouldn't be amped unless you see one somewhere lol. If you don't see some big metal thing hooked up with huge wires to your battery or anywhere in the interior for that fact the speakers are just hooked up to the head unit. Very simple install. I would assume your subs are hooked up to the subs only. If you are not sure just follow the wires from the + and - they will lead you the right way.
Keep it simple get same models. I love how finaly people are telling each other this it makes new guy lifes a lot easier and much more simple. Down the road if you ever wanna upgrade with a amp you will thank us for only buying 1 type of brand. Makes shopping for the right amp 3000x easier.
Good luck m8

agree to a very high extent. one reason you might want to amp your back speakers is if you need to control the volume. they have a tendency to get ear bleeding right behind your head, so you'll have to watch that! the amp will also allow you to drive your speakers with better power than your head unit can do. i dont care what a head unit says, you're not going to get more than about 12-14 watts continuous our of it. and the reason speakers blow most of the time is underpowering. so, you will have a more clear sound coming out of your mids/highs with one, and it will help with subs drowning out your high end.

also, i tell this to everyone, cause i firmly believe it, and im a serious audiophile...but if you are going to run subs especially, consider using a 6 1/2" component set instead of the 6x9. you're not going to need that low end there if you have subs. should round out the mids a lot better. infinity makes a good one. also look into eclipses stuff. they make a VERY clear, warm speaker! seriously man, best of luck!

Re: Help please.

Thanks alot guys. Yeah, I want to upgrade EVERYTHING audio in the car, but I don't want anything but the head unit to be out of stock appearance..... I still want great bass, but from the speakers. I want HD Radio, and i will put tsunami wires wires in it to. Where could I hide an amp in a 1988 Trans Am GTA Notchback?
