You wont know until you try it. You have them, why not put it in and see how they sound?

Re: Mismatched Setup

The 6x9s are stock, for the 3rd gen F-bodies... tweeters i'm not sure about, but i don't believe so. I would recommend getting a larger box for that sub though. It will allow it to get a little bit deeper and sound better.

Re: Mismatched Setup

I dunno man theres not much room to fit that one in there as it is, I know other members have done some really cool stuff in the deep part of the trunk but I'm going to college so things are pretty tight. On that note

I think the front speakers and tweeters have had it. What should I replace them with and do I have to take apart the dash to put them in?

Re: Mismatched Setup

unless those are some quality 6x9s i think it will sound a bit "twangy" with 4 of em in there. and the dash pad will come off with like 8 or so bolts not hard at all

Re: Mismatched Setup

Hopefully the image I am trying to attach will help you find the bolts that hold the dash pad on. Its really not that difficult to get it out, but sometimes can be tricky getting it back in.

Re: Mismatched Setup

OK I'll try and take it apart tomorrow, what kind of speakers go in the front, the size i mean, The sony exolode 6x9s actually aren't too bad if you have a high powered deck I don't think Id put them in the front, I'll just wait till the ones in the back go.

Re: Mismatched Setup

Just do a search. Its some odd size. Alot of guys run the infinitys [as i do].
Basically anything that goes in the front will require modification of the air conditioning vents.

Re: Mismatched Setup

the fronts should be a 4x6. Some people will run a 4" and make a bracket.

Re: Mismatched Setup

sounds like there are more pressing matters than the stereo. First rule of thumb, get it running well first, then upgrade music lol.

Re: Mismatched Setup

yeah tell me about it, I started my car up this morning to let it warm up a bit before leaving for work (and to move the wifes car) and as soon as I pulled the keys from the ignition it just took off and killed my carport rail and shoved my back porch off the wall by about 8 or so inches. I was all kinds of upset. Looks like I'm going to need a new fender after all now. GOD THAT SUCKS... who knew the damn thing would start in gear.
