retro fit speed comp volume radio in 3rd
was looking at one of the newer style mid to late 1990's GM CD players with the speed comp volume, im sure this works off the VSS somehow
anyway, is there any way to get it to function on a 89 using the VSS off the speedo that goes to the ECM
if so how do you go about doing it and what color wire do you use from the new radio

Re: retro fit speed comp volume radio in 3rd
I've heard that some have got it to work, I haven't been so successful with mine. Either the pulse count form my VSS (305 TBI is 2000 pulse per mile), or the SCV function in the radio doesn't work. Not something I'm going to worry about, I plan to amp the radio anyway with a line level converter.
The speedo feeds a buffer on the back of the cluster which outputs VSS to the ECM and cruise control.

yea the buffer that goes to the ECM
anyway, it would be nice to have, i like to ride with the windows down, so the SCV would be nice if you could get it to work........or i could just use my A/C
but im not even sure im going to put a SCV in mine, i got a good stocker, and a real real good Alpine if i want CD so IDK
