New to radios. Need a harness for a jensen

I need a harness that will fit a jensen. I am not good with radios but it is a 16pin. The car I am installing it in had a pioneer radio but when I went to install the pioneer to where the jensen was, the smoke got out. So instead of a 200 dollar radio crapping out on me I want to be safe.

Help?

They will not make a harness that directly plug in the jensen in your car. You can get a harness for the car that will plug in but you will have to wire the radio. The sell them on www.crutchfield.com or you could find a radio shop locally. They prob. only charge 15 to 20 to install it for you...

Good Luck!

Does the plug that is in your hand go in the back of the radio or the car? One of those will be the right one for the car. Then all you have to do is wire the plug that came with the radio to it and your done. You see all of the little clear conections that are on that harness. That is exactly what someone has done with the other radio to install it...

Well the one in my hand plugs into the car but the other plugged into the pioneer radio. But when I plugged the jensen plug into the pioneer, pioneer got fried....

I am worried if I plug the pioneer plug into the jensen then the jenson will go "poof",

Don't interchange radio wiring harness, they're model specific and thats why it blew your stereo. You can get a harness that will hook into your car's factory stereo harness. At the end of that harness will be a bunch of wires that arent hooked into anything. You wire those wires into the wires that came with your stereo's wiring harness. Bam, youre done.

You can't just plug it in you will burn the new one as well. You will have to go through the wiring and connect each wire to the correct wire in the car. I sent you a link to the vehicles wiring color codes. you will have to find the wires by the colors if the harness has been cut. I know if I were dealing with a cut harness I would take it to a shop and pay the $20...

Good Luck...

I understand I just can't plug it in..... Can anyone get me a pinout for what the wires are supposed to connect too? Btw my local audio shop wants to charge me 45 bucks to do it. I laughed.

Re: New to radios. Need a harness for a jensen

Question 1-
Please clarify, do you want to install the poineer or the jensen head unit?

Question 2-
For the head unit you plan to install, do you have the harness that is made for that brand and physically connects to the back of that brand stereo?

Question 3-
Does your car still have the factory harness intact? Hint- it would fit into the connector shown in the palm of your hand.

Once I have those answered clearly, we can go to the next step.
