Re: New Amp? HELP

stay away from the following brands:
Pyle
Boss
Pyramid
Lanzar
Audiopipe
Blitz
Nitro
Sony (some stuff, older stuff is nice)
Performance Tekinique
Power Acoustik...
those are all that come to mind for now

Now good brands:
Alpine
Eclipse
Pioneer
Orion
Soundstream (back in the day..i dunno about their new stuff)
Boston
Memphis
MB quart
Hifonics
Rockford Fosgate
JBL

... idk

many more

maybe someone can add to the lists....

but for now

I'd say u look on ebay for a good brand used amp instead of a brand new piece of junk.

Yeah...If somebody ever sees THAT amp powering THOSE subs you are gonna be the laughing stock everywhere you go.
It would be like throwing a Kia engine in an Aston Martin.

Not only that..u are gonna put yourself to shame and everone who ever owned a thirdgen.

And thats not all..you and any person related to you.(you, your kids, grandchildren, etc)will be permanently banned from this and any other thirdgen website and/or thirdgen related events.

We will go to a court of law to get a restraining order against you and to get your car confiscated and donate it to someone whos willing to put a decent amp in to power those subs.

Im just exaggerating....but only a little bit.....hehehehe...thats how bad u should stay away from that amp.

Re: New Amp? HELP

Ummmm never heard of those subs lol....

Either way stay away from anything pyle. They are overrated and not very efficient at all

How many rms watts are your subs you have now. NOT MAX watts. Max watts is a marketing scam to make ppl think they are running with the "big boys". If they truely are 1000 watts rms a piece (never seen any 10in sub that was 1000 rms watts) then get a 2000d amp from one of the good companies already listed. All of those are good companies. Just to let you know i think there is a set of subs and amp in the forsale section. I didnt check it out as I already have a system and dont feel like upgrading yet lol.

Re: New Amp? HELP

which Critical Mass subs are you running , reference ss line or ul series line ....only reason i ask is the ul line are 2500 watt rms and the reference line are 500 watts rms... now that makes a HUGE difference on what size amp you will need .... if they are reference line i would suggest a sundown saz1500d too power the subs (a very good amp and wont break the bank) that would give the 750 per sub (most if not all high end subs are underrated and im sure they will take 750 with no problem)

Sundown amps are a great deal for the money. Solid amp company with outstanding cust. service.

Pyle......not so much. Pretty much junk. IMO

New Soundstream Reference amps...good choice for the money. Good reviews so far.

If it were my $$.....Sundown.

Re: New Amp? HELP

Sundown are nice amps. Can't go wrong for the price. Look at the 1000D
