Christmas gift???

My father said he would buy me either a car deck for my ford escourt, or subwoofers for my third gen. of course i took the subwoofers, however i started thinking? what are some nice subwoofers out there? - don't post the ones you have and act like they're the best. Tell me what are actually the best.

best is very subjective and very expensive. What kind of music do you listen to and what is the budget?

Re: Christmas gift???

Subs - Image Dynamics, DC Audio, FI Car Audio, Sundown, Digital Designs, JL if you're made of money (overpriced imo), T3 Sounds, Diamond Audio, Fosgate sound decent for budget subs

Amps - SUNDOWN, Alpine PDX, Rockford Power series, Audison, Zapco, Autotek makes a decent budget amp

Re: Christmas gift???

I've run Memphis and MTX before, i liked both of my setups. To be honest i fork over the big bucks for the speakers vs the subs. I've heard everything from JL to legacy (extreme junk) i could just never afford a full JL setup so i went with something mid range yet still nice and spent more money on my speakers. You've really gotta figure out your budget to figure out what you want to run. I can vouche for Diamond Audio and Infinity for awesome speakers so i assume they have the same quality subs.

Re: Christmas gift???

dude never get Hifonics anything they are CRAP Kicker is decent JL everyone and there mother has BUT there equipment is awesome and it sounds great. I would suggest looking at something cost efficent but that will do the job ie Kicker, Mtx (is pretty decent), kenwoods arnt bad then JL JL of course is somewhat pricy but its good

Re: Christmas gift???

i had a single hifonics 15 with a hifonics amp in a box built by a small audio store here and it hit 143.8 in the trunk of my impala and if ended up costing less than 800 dollars

im sorry but kicker is some of the sorriest subs i have ever seen used and installed...the only ones worth a damn would be the l7s

and dont get me started on their amps...

for the price you could never go wrong with a good memphis setup. but like mentioned before it also depends on what you listen to.

Re: Christmas gift???

dude its really on the user for one if your broke go with hifonics like i said if you dont have money it aint bad but its not the best out there ive installed car audio for the past 6 years and i used to rip that crap out 24 7 and loved smashing it with hammers but its really up to the user if you liked it and had a good experiance with it why not im just saying because i get to see that sh*t returned every single day that i work Kicker is one of the top selling brands granted it is hored out completly but they dont sound that bad plus the other you had on your little list are granted great products im just not a fan of hifonics

Re: Christmas gift???

tell me whats wrong with kicker amps?

i got 2 12" cvrs in my accord on a 06model 1000.1 kicker amp and it still works as good as when i got it. In my camaro i got 2 12" w3s on a 500/1 they are both good jl has better sq, kicker hits harder but not as clean as jl. IMO

Re: Christmas gift???

I agree Kicker amps are decent for the price as well they put out real power there is nothing wrong with them at all Jl is definatley a cleaner set up but both sound good and CVRs are a very decent woofer for the price

Re: Christmas gift???

Focal Polyglass Comps are amazing, as well as hertz. Dynaudio also kicks *** too. Theres so many companies to look at out there thats rarely heard of because they aren't mainstream. Those are usually the better product, and can be had for less money.
