Amp/Sub thoughts,advice,input thnx

So i picked up a Brand new Alpine CDA-9886 Deck as well as a set of new Type S speakers for front and rear.

now ive had subs that where way overkill before and just want a single 10 inch to give it some exta bump when the mood strikes. I plan on using a fairly thin sub and laying the box down on the area above the gas tank in my camaro, instead of down in the area that is lower.

Ive been looking at the 10 inch Alpine type S sub which is fairly thin and seems to be for the most part what im looking for, and would like a Alpine amp as well. nothing crazy just enough for the one sub.
also saw a 10 in kicker comp i belive in a perfect sized boz for 50$ at the local pawn shop, was contemplating that.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I'd go for the bottom of the well. Anything on the package shelf that's not bolted down is going to slide around. Since the gas tank is directly under the package shelf there isn't really a safe way to bolt anything down there. In the bottom of the well, there isn't really anywhere for it to go. Not to mention, passersby can't see down in the well, reducing the chance of theft.

i hear yea, ill be droping the tank during the rebuild so ill be able to throw in something if i really needed. as for the passerby itll be tinted out and with how over the top the projects gonna be itll subject to that anyhow lol.

i found the type S sub on ebay new for cheap and a decent alpine amp to so im leaning that way

A single 10" sub box could easliy be made to fit in the very bottom of the trunk in the space between the bottom and the ledges on the sides (what the spare tire panel sits on).

You would still have enough room to have a useable trunk.
