Will this Stereo Fit?
I emailed the sender about the dimensions because the specifics weren't listed but it says it fits double sized dash openings.
I searched the forums and one member had this head unit in his car.
Would i have to do any modifications for it to fit?
Heres the link for it on ebay.

Re: Will this Stereo Fit?
If you look at the pic that you posted, you can see here the top & bottom of the faceplate was cut, to fit a double-din stereo. I'm sure there is cutting to be done behind there as well, but it does show you that it is possible, if your willing to make it happen.

Re: Will this Stereo Fit?
Anybody put a double din in their thirdgen?
How much cutting are we talking about?
I'm ok with cutting on the faceplate.
But idk about cutting more.
Help Please?

Re: Will this Stereo Fit?
You already posted a pic of one, so it is OBVIOUSLY possible. Ask the owner of the car that is in the pic you posted, about what all he did.

Re: Will this Stereo Fit?
The question is if you have to cut the metal part of the console behind the face plate... Then you get into the question of the depth... Fortunately in the Camaro there's a ton of room in the console to work with. That said, personally I'd just find a deck I could be happy with that'd fit without cutting. But then I don't need TV screens, USB ports, and Death Stars, in my car... As long as I'm not relegated to cassette tapes and 15 Christian talk radio stations I'm content. I tend to stick with single din CD units with mounting kits and adapter harnesses that I can switch from aftermarket back tothe stock radio in minutes.

Thanks again drew for the great advice. I see where your coming from but i dont have my mind made up on if i want a tv screen or if a regular head unit.I'm not totally in love with the idea of cutting up my console and trim. Of course anything would be better than no radio which is what i'm living with right now.

Re: Will this Stereo Fit?
Yes it will fit. With modifications.
I am the one who has that radio in the picture. I started by ordering a spare faceplate off the internet from thirdgenranch for 6 bucks so I could save my stock faceplate, just in case I ever decide to return it to stock. The new face plate was hand-filed top and bottom until the radio fit and I used close-celled window insulation foam to fill in the gaps on the sides. I could have gone the whole route with fiberglass and filled in those gaps, But I only had one day to get the job done and I decided to make that another project down the road, when I redo the rest of the system. There is a small metal brace above the stock stereo that I did trim down, but all A/C vents and factory mounting brackets are intact. Keep in mind, however, that I have been installing professionally for over 12 years and have developed the skills and patience to do this. I always recommend that you talk with a local installer that you trust, if you know one, you may find that something like this is cheaper than you think and you have someone to turn to if anything does go wrong down the road.

Calm down. Respectively, i was merely looking for advice from someone who had done it, not asking if it was possible to get insight on the task at hand.
