Quiet my ride

I'm looking to quiet my ride down from outside noise. I'm trying to do this on a budget and not looking to spend thousands of dollars on material.. Is there a way i could spend a few bucks and just cover everything or maybe just major spots? I'm also thinking of getting rid of that cotton material that is suppose to be the stock dampener, but still use the stock carpet.

Just want to know what everyone would suggest and give their opinions of what they use. I want to get rid of most of the sound if possible. basically alot more than what the stock dampening is... because its pretty bad imo.

thanks,
regards,
Timinsk

I used peel-n-seal, you can get it at lowes or home depot. It took me about 4 rolls to do the entire floor and area behind the rear seats. At 15 bucks a roll it's pretty cheap.

Re: Quiet my ride

I used fat mat if u really wanna go cheep..... i dont recommend but some people use that expanding foam stuff and if u only buy a lil matt the wheel wells are good places to start

after that maybe do the floor or the trunk part but wheel wells are usualy the big one man

Be advised that some of the cheaper roofing material tends to smell in the car.

I wouldn't advise removing the factory material unless you plan on replacing it with an actual noise reducer material (as opposed to a sound deadener like Dynamat). Some is better than none.

Where are you noticing the "noise" coming from? Is it "noise" or rattling?

What's your budget?
