Head unit Options stock look
Hey guys,
What kind of options do I have for my 89TA for head units that are stock. I want to go with the orange redish light like the TA has on the instruments. I know of this CD/Radio unit here but I was wondering if anyone got a different one in that also has orange/red lighting. It has to have CD, preferred would be CD/Cassette. I would have really liked the one in the second pic but I highly doubt it will work due to the locking mechanism.
This one works: 94-02 Grand Prix

Not sure about this one: 02-? Bonneville

Anything is possible. The LED display from what I've heard has a thin colored film over the display for color. If you want the buttons backlit the color of your choice, it's easy enough to disassemble the unit and remove the faceplate. Then, you can actually paint the back side of the buttons so the light shows through the color of your paint.
I did this with mine, but I left the blueish color on the LED display.

The first one pictured I had in my car. It was decent and lit up in red. They usually have a slight problem with the display which mine also had but still works well. The second radio pictured apparantly requires a signal from the car it came from which is why you see them for sale so cheap. If your interested in the deck that came out of my car pm me. It even says pontiac on it and is identical to the one posted above.
