I just created a cupholder where my ashtray would be and then realized my radio sticks out way to much. I have a aftermarket 1.5 din? I got that walmart displacement that bevels it out alot. Anyone have notice this or maybe have one that sits farther back? maybe like the heater controls do? its flush with the base?

 

the metra kits sit flush.

 

Sometimes you can notch out the very back bracing in the dash behind where the radio goes, that the "Wal Mart" kit pushes an aftermarket radio out to clear.

 

I'll check this when I dismantle It. If not then i'll go with a metra kit.
