Re: how much amp wire is needed?
Well, put it on the ground next to the car and see if it reaches from the headlight to the rear of the car.
Remember, the cable goes from the battery to a fuse, then into the car, then down the firewall and under the carpet then up over hump in the back then down into the well.
10' is probably enough to run to the top of the back hatch right behind the back seat.

Re: how much amp wire is needed?
You'll need at least double that amount. Your car is 16 feet long, and to run a cable that length with bends and turns, it will take about 20 feet . Also, put a fuse in line as close to the battery as possible.

I usually pick up 20ft, get the amp kits if you can find em on sale. never hurts to get extra, since it gives you some left overs to upgrade the big 3 (alt to battery +, battery - to ground, engine ground to body ground) while you're at it.

Re: how much amp wire is needed?
the factory electrical system is fine if you're only sticking with factory equipment. however, when you add stereo stuff, you can be taxing the wiring and charging system. the factory wire going from the alt to charge the battery is only 8ga and not adequate for keeping things charged when you start upgrading the stereo stuff.
Adding a *fused* 4ga run between the alt output and the battery positive (along with a bigger ground wire going from the battery to the frame and the frame to the engine block) will help to reduce voltage drop and keep things up to snuff

Re: how much amp wire is needed?
Run your Power From your battery down under your heater/ac box through the fire wall(might have to drill a hole from inside)
and its easier to run wire through fire wall from inside car with someone out side watching for it
MAKE SURE YOU PUT A RUBBER Grommit around wire and metal or you will short everything out when it wears a hole in wire
How to hook up power to your amp
*Put your Power Wire in amp where it says 12V(power)
*Put your ground wire in amp where it says ground
*Put your remote wire in amp were it says remote(Little terminial) also the **remote wire is the blue wire that runs up front to your cd player that turns amp on and off
*RCA Jacks go to the INPUT RCA Side
What subs did you decide you was running and what amp(If I remember right you said you was running a pioneer amp and sony subs correct)
Well for a Single Voice Coil Sub inside box
*Run +(Positive) to positive terminal on box
*Run -(Negative) to negitive terminal on box
Running wire from box to amp
*Run + to + on amp
*Run - to - on amp
Does amp say bridgeable where speaker input is?
***If it says bridgeable hook it up like above first and see what sounds like
To bridge the amp
*+ from both sides of box to +(on bridged side) on amp
*- from both sides of box to -(On bridged side) on amp
****DOING THIS LEAVES USUALLY THE 2 middle screws unused on pioneer amps
Capaciter is un neaded for your set up and really dont help anyways
To hook compaciter up
**Power runs up to rear of car hook + on + side of capaciter then run a + and then run a strand of power wire to the amp + side from the
**Negative runs from your ground to your - side on capaciter then run a - cable to the - on amp
I hope this helps also where are you running your ground wire too?
Run all of your wire and lay amp in the trunk spot where mine was laying and Ill try and help you as much as I could But if you buy a amp kit it has instructions

Its a good upgrade to have though

Re: how much amp wire is needed?
the remote wire sends a small amount of power from the radio to the amp to tell it to turn on. since its such a tiny amount, you can run it along side the rca's if you'd like.
make sure your grounding spot is clear of paint and solid. I've always liked using seatbelt mounting points since they're usually a pretty big bolt to the chassis, no drilling new holes

Remote wire can be 16gauge and is just normal wire, blue is the standard color.

Re: how much amp wire is needed?
Just go to walmart and get a roll of 16 gauge blue wire thats 15 feet long and run back with your RCA Jacks(Some RCA Jacks have remote wire built in them)
In third gens I run my remote the the little slit in the carpent in the well on the hook for cargo area...
But I dont hide my amps in wheel well l keep spare tire in there lol
