my 6x9s are vibrating like mad! is this a sign that the speakers are on there way out the door? they are sony explods and they are only about a year old, will be a year old in the spring.

 

Are your bolt tightened all the way? I had the same problem with my Pioneer 6x9s and I just took them out, and put them back in and problem was solved.

I had a pass side 6X9 vibrating. Bolts were tight, so I thought a nice new gasket would stop the noise, but it didn't.

Turned out the guilty party was the vibrating flap in the flow-through ventilation valve in the door jamb. I removed the valve, and soaked the rubber flap with Armour-All to soften it up. Then wiped up the excess with Q tips and re-installed.

All quiet now.

 

Also remember that it may not be the bolts that attach the speaker to the sail panel.

Upon further inspection, you will notice that the piece of metal the 6x9 is bolted to is also bolted to the sail panel by an addition 4 bolts. Make sure these haven't come loose.

 

dynamat is your friend, mine rattled like crazy and i had every nut and bolt in that area tightened down hard, unfortunately it didnt work so i bought a wedge pack of dynamat and put it all around the speaker mounting area, top to bottom, and the left overs went onto the outer skin from the inside ( sub prepping) it works great, check hifisoundconnection, they have audiomat and its cheaper/thicker than dynamat is

 

its really only my driver side speaker thats doing it, today when it was going off i put my hand on it and it stopped....if that helps

 

Yeah dynamat will fix it, it just dampens vibrations like when you put your hand on it

 

I just stuck a little piece of speaker wire in with the bolt to give it a real snug fit, works like a charm keeping them from coming loose.

 

Agreed, its probably that vent. I put some foam gasket take around it to tighten the fit. Worked like a charm.

 

I need a pair of 6x9 speakers for the rear deck of my car. I need them to work with the Kicker amp and I want the best bass I can get without adding a sub, so which 6x9's have the best bass?
