2 guage or 0 guage?
I am running two alpine PDX amps, a PDX 1.1000 and a PDX 4.100. The cost of 0 guage compared to 2 or even 4 guage is astronomical. I know 2 guage would be pushing it and I am sure even quality 4 guage is out of hte question. They will be running 2 alpine typr R 10's @ 2 ohms, 2 type R 6x9's, and type R 6.5 components.
What do you guys think?

Well the owners manuals suggest
4-6ga for the 1.1000
and
4ga for the 4.100
So I would say a single 2ga run would be fine.

You can also look at using copper welding cable as a power wire.
Cheaper than audio grade wire and does the same job.

was also going to suggest the welding cable too. found this chart a long time ago and recommend looking it over to better make your decision. determine your max amp draw, the length of the wire run, and you should be good to go.

Re: 2 guage or 0 guage?
I have done several charts, and not allagree on what size cable, but most say 0 guage. The cost of decent 0 guage wire is double the cost of decent 4 guage, or even 2 guage. There are also not many 2 guage kits available anymore.
How much for the 0 guage? I figure I will need about 17 ft of power and another 3 or 4 feet of ground. I dont want CCA wire though. OFC wire is what I am looking for.

if i was you I would go with the 2 guage for those amps. They are digital amps correct? So there draw isnt as bad as most. Also connections, and flexibilty isnt that great the bigger you go. You Will not see any difference to your earswith either one of those wire sizes.

I ended up getting a Rockford Fosgate 1/0 guage amp install kit. Thanks for the input.

I didnt really plan on doing anything beyond putting a 1/0 guage wire from the battery to the body. I will look and see what guage wire is coming off of the alt and look for engine grounds to see if it is needed.

The big 3 is highly recommended. Innovative wiring makes a nice kit for our cars.
