What's going on fellas? I have an audio question about the system on my 89 Iroc, i just recently bought the car and it is optioned with the factory Bose sytem. Only the right rear speaker is working and im not getting any sound from the other 3, but when i adjust the fade to the front speakers and turn it all the way up i can barely hear music coming from the front. My main question is how many connectors am i supposed to have behind the deck? i pulled the radio to take a look at the conections and i have the bigger black one connected, a small blue connected and a small white connected, then i also have an extra blue and white connector just like the other 2 that are just sitting there.... they arent connected and arent part of the big wire loom. so i dont know which ones should be connected. i tried connecting them all in different combinations but only the blue connectors made a difference to where that one right speaker would work or it wouldnt.

Can anyone shed some light on why i have an extra set of connectors back there?

Mine had the stock connectors to the dash speakers behind the deck not connected (and no dash speakers) but I can't say it came factory that way. The Bose connectors carried a fifth wire.

Each speaker has its own amplifier that receives a power signal from the head unit. You should find four wires going to each. Keep this in mind when trouble shooting. Sound not coming out could be at the HU, amp or speaker.

 

hmm, i'll triple check behind the console to see if there arent't any other connectors hiding behind there.

 

How many connectors do you hope to find? I'm confused because I thought you were asking why you already had extra?

 

I'm sorry, i thought you said in your earlier post that bose systems carried a fifth connector but you said fifth WIRE. my bad, so how many connectors total did you have plugged into your bose deck? i only have 3 connected, a long black one, a small bue and another white. but the deck seems to still have ports for more connectors to plug in.

 

Can't help there, my deck was long gone.
