radio equipment help

My 2 front speakers in my 87 seem to be going out so i need to buy some new ones, I would also like to upgrade a little bit because with ttops out its not that loud. Does anyone have any suggestions or help towards what i should do? I have an after market deck and would like to just replace speakers but if i have to, ill install an amp too.

Re: radio equipment help

I dont have aftermarket speakers in my car, but i do have a Kenwood system in the back. I dont think that you need to install an amp for aftermarket speakers. I have ttops as well. And aftermarket decks add alot to ur speakers. It amps them up big time.

Get a nice aftermarket headunit, look at pioneer or kenwood. Usually the 150-250$ are the headunits you want.

It really helps to get aftermarket amps to power them, so much louder.
