Head Unit Issue
I own a kdc mp208 from kenwood; love the headunit!
I've had this headunit along with my setup for about 2-3 years now.
Headunit with mtx thunder 300amp mono amp with dual 10" kenwoods that are ran in parallel. I've had no issues, can "max" out at 35 on headunit with little drain (atwhich i could see the needle on my gauge go down when the subs were draining it)
Now I try playing music and I could play a song for a minute or so, radio or aux even cd, and i can't exceed volume level of 30 or even 28 and it will "restart" my headunit, basically turn off and turn back on by itself. I don't know what the issue could be, like I said no issue for 2 years or so with this setup and now this is happening. I could play songs below volume of 28 and have no problems at all! could run for hours with no issue just anything about 28-30+ volume and it'll turn the headunit off and back on. I know I had this issue ONLY when there wasn't enough power to draw to subs when the subs are calling for it. But that was at like 32-34 volume, on a heavy bass song, and mainly i would see the volts gauge go down to 12 or so and turn the headunit off then back on. But this time the gauge stays at 13-14 constantly and the headunit will turn off and back on..
Any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Head Unit Issue
sounds like theres a shortage of voltage, head units like to reset themselves when you start pushing the threshold, id check your alternator output and go from there, not sure about that specific deck but kenwoods and all manufacturers have a protect mode now but that only gets triggered when theres a short of some kind, if its just resetting you should look into upgrading your wiring on the car, i had to put 0 gauge on my battery to chassis, and from block to firewall, and then 4 gauge from my alternator to my battery.
Check alt output and then go from there, wiring is next, and if all else fails look into a cap, it wont make a huge difference but if you do the 2 above and are close the cap will be sufficient
