need some advice on my rear speakers

i am wanting to know if i should hook up my rear 6x9 speakers straight to the radio or from the amp. my amp has the 4 prong plug for 2 speakers, but i don't want to blow the 6x9's.

Re: need some advice on my rear speakers

being a stickler when it comes to stereo setups, i don't believe in rear speakers in a car for anything other than back seat passengers; sound should only be coming from in front of you (they don't put bands behind you at a concert, do they?). however, not everyone agrees there. if you have to have rearfill, i prefer leaving them on deck power and leave the amping to the fronts and sub(s)
