Kenwood is a good respectable grand.
Put it in and see how it sounds.

Re: has anyone seen this radio?
unless it has a feature you need that the xplod doesnt have, theres really no need. pick which one looks better in your car. They're both probably putting out around 18x4 rms anyway. $100 to $200 headunits don't have much difference between them besides aesthetics and display. Kenwood > Sony everyday btw.
Personally i would change it out just so i didn't have a sony xplod in my car.

Re: has anyone seen this radio?
honestly unless your doing comps with your stereo it doesnt matter what you have in the car your not going to notice much differences. use what you like it doesnt matter what anyone thinks.
i personally had good luck with my two sony 12s that i had untill someone decided to steal them. had good luck with my sony deck as well. a radio shop gave me all kinds of negativity when i decided to run them saying they wont be around long and sony doesnt belong in car audio. that was over 10 years ago.
i have enjoyed the style and performance of my kenwood stuff that i have now, i have a kenwood in the camaro and had one in the s10(just sold truck) ive had a couple kenwood amps.
just pick what style and options you like most and go with it

Well its an excelon piece, thats kenwoods top stuff but its older so who knkws, I kowfor a fact they have better tuners in them than sony, as for matching everything....no point just go with what you like, i hate sony with a passion but my last personal experience with them was about 6 years ago, xplod deck melted down on me (literally) for no reason, professionally I keep away from them, not a single one of their products are true rated but im also spoiled by the industry and ill foot the cash for jl and alpine products, pick what you like and run with it

Waste of money if you ask me, as you can pay just slightly more for Alpine/JL products that on average last 5-10years+ if you use them normally (AKA....not turning gain at max, not playing music as loud as it goes).
Kenwood, alpine, mtx, jl, are good companies, I'm neutral when it comes to pioneer or jvc...
Pioneer decks usually have terrible sound quality with great bass, much like jvc.

Re: has anyone seen this radio?
IMO, Kenwood always makes Great products. A lot of my buddies have Kenwood headunits in their cars and they sound and look great. Your headunit has many different options and perks to it:
My car has a JVC KD-LH300 that my dad bought back in 2004 for his Sebring. He used it in all of his cars, which we're daily driven because of his job about 50 miles away from home. He put it up in 2009 and i got it in my car in July of 2010. It works GREAT believe it or not. No problems,no static, and great sound quality even with 1200W of subwoofer power. Im running it through Alpines all around (dash as well as Sail panels) And 6 inch Midbass speakers in my Pillars. Also, running to a Rockford Fosgate Punch amp with 2 10' Inch MB quart discus subs. The stereo has sub control options, amp control, amp gain, color, volume gain, subwoofer levels and power, adjustable frequencies etc. And i also have it so that when i turn my car on,the stereo screen says Pontiac Trans Am, And while music is playing, every commercial for thirdgen Trans Ams are played on the screen. When i shut off the car, screen shows my car and Says Goodbye Mr. Nelson. Ill post a video of my stereo. It may be old,but the sucker is GREAT and i plan to keep it for years and years to come.
This is before i had the Outro that says Goodbye, this is the opening

Re: has anyone seen this radio?
Honestly they don't belong on the market, let alone in cars. Their products are junk. My girl-friend bought 2 x 12" sony xplode subs, that came in a box, with the recommended amp from sony, and they only lasted 2 years with normal use.
