I want it to sound nice but I'm not trying to bump my car to death what do you suggest that I put in it?

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

What are your goals more specifically? How much are you wanting to spend? Are you wanting highs only or a sub also? A little more info is needed to give any good advice.

Price range is flexible 500 to 600 would be cool but I'll spend more if thats what it requires. I was actually leaning more toward subs because the dude at mickey shorr said my speakers would be good. Sorry I guess my question was pretty vague

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

Sound system are all preference and opinion. Just be sure you get a warranty and use a decently known brand

sonicelectronix.com is a good website. I highly recommend them.
I just bought 2 Kenwood 12" for $100 shipped, $300 Kenwood 6.1" head unit shipped, and I'm about to get my 1000w amp and 2 6x9 speakers for the back

My favorite brands are Rockford Fosgate, Hifonics, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Clarion. Alpine makes really good high speakers, I believe they are called Type-R's.

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

I've heard good things about the Apline type-r's. I was thinking JL audio for the subs but Im not sure what size and if I should get one or two. I just want a real quality set up that isnt too weak but isnt overkill.

I always hear JL Audio subs blow the cones, I've never personally bought any for that reason.

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

If u want subs, the Alpine Type R's work well for every type of music. I have also heard great things about JL C2 series speakers

They sell anything you could want. Check out the SSA subs while you are there.

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

Alpine r types work good in small boxes. JL audio subs have extremely high sound quality, but I personally prefer rockford fosgates power series products 1 T1 12 and a good amp that puts out about 900-1000 rms and you should be satisfied completely. I have this set up in my car and i love it, it is LOUD for what it is and it has great sound quality on all types of music.

Get yourself a decent 6 channel amp. 4 channels for the interiors, and channels 5 and 6 bridged for your sub. I use a Bazooka tube for the jams I listen to. Send only mids and highs to the interior speakers and the low's to the sub. The chamber in the back will make the sub sound larger than it is. The mids and highs only going to the interiors will make them last almost forever, I recommend Boston Acoustics.

or you could get a nice high powered (55 watts per channel) head unit and get yourself an amp for the sub. With some nice interior speakers you won't win any sound contest, but you will enjoy a nice system going down the road and still have enough money to treat your buddy to a blizzard at the nearby Dairy Queen.

The Alpine Type R's with the dual voice coils slam nicely!

If your wanting something that sounds good and wont bump you doors off than all you really need a a mtx 8 in sub clear bass and wont take up the whole back trunk.

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

My experience with Infinity speakers has always been good. I am considering their Basslink powered subwoofer to add a little depth to the music in my daughters vert. Stay away from the bargain basement $49 Pioneer 6.5" stuff. Don't ask me how I know!

As far as head units go I REALLY like Alpine stuff. I have had dozens over the years in everything from 18 wheelers to jeeps and have never had any problems.

Re: What sound system would you recommend?

look up slim subwoofers. so they wont be so heavy and you can make a custom box in the back, and it wont be weing down your car to make more power to save.

or this...sub is good enough for a three time IASCA sound world champion. You don't need to be expensive to be good!
