Best budget sound system

Hey, FIRST POST

Getting my new 1986 IROC-Z/28 this thursday! IM PUMPED! wanted this car for over 2 years.

Probably the most asked question in this section but ill ask it anyway.

So, for UNDER $400 (or around there if its nessescary, if i can even get new speakers for 400) what would my options be? I dont really want to cut anything out of my car, I want whatevers installed to be easily removable so I can take it back to stock if I need to. What can I get? Not really good with sound systems so act like your talking to a 5 year old child please

I like to listen to alot of classic rock and SOME rap. So mostly acoustic and eh maybe like one sub (if nessescary).

Get your speakers on ebay if your buying new, they are cheap. I like alpine and rockford fosgate, if you just want some decent sound their cheapest models are great and affordable. look around on craigslist for head units but check them out before you buy them. Or you can get a pretty good pioneer or sony unit new for around $100 even from best buy.

Re: Best budget sound system

thats such a wide question. depends on what you want it to do. are you big on mp3s, audio quality, bass, listen to radio, just cds, etc.....

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...X-GT710HD.html
i got this for my truck because all i listen to is radio in that, and its got integrated hd, and if i want it will play mp3's off a thumb drive. its good for stock or cheaper lower power speakers.

in my monte i was more interested in sound quality so i got a clarion hu with 4v outputs for the amp, polk audio speakers front and rear and a separate amp and two 10in subs. your not going to get all that for 400 so you have to narrow it down before we can give a valid suggestion

works out to about 450 with wires. and you got to build your own box. ive done it a few times it not that hard. just working with mdf sucks. its a good take it out in the driveway type project. the amp is 4 channel and i would bridge two for the sub and power the 6X9's with the other channels

Re: Best budget sound system

if you want a sub at all look on craigslist and do some research about the subs you see for sale. you will be able to get some quality stuff on your budget if you look hard.

there are 3 ways to build a stereo. good, powerful, and cheap. unfortunately you can only choose 2.
